Questions

How do you pronounce the word 'kinesiology'?

Kin - easy - ology.

Who invented Kinesiology?

Kinesiology has evolved over the years but was originally developed by a Chiropractor in the 1960s, one Dr. George Goodheart DC. He discovered the relationship between the Chinese meridian system, the Five Elements and the muscles, organs and glands of the body. This gave us the ability to look at the body, mind and energy system holistically, understanding how they interact with each other.

What category of health care does Kinesiology fall under?

Kinesiology is complementary medicine. It does not claim to diagnose or cure, it balances energy. Kinesiology complements other traditional forms of medicine.

What does a Kinesiology session look like?

A Kinesiology session or balance lasts for about 75 minutes.

The client lies fully clothed on a massage table with pillows for support after an initial chat to establish a goal or focus for the session.

The practitioner uses gentle muscle monitoring of your left arm to gather information about underlying stress regarding your goal.

Gentle non-invasive techniques such as tapping, acupressure, tuning forks, affirmations and essences are then used to clear the stress.

Do I need to bring anything to my Kinesiology session?

An open mind and clean socks.

How will I feel after a Kinesiology session?

Everybody is unique. You may feel very little or more noticeable changes in your body or emotions. This is just your body rebalancing itself. Breathe, be kind to yourself, take things easy and drink plenty of water after your session.

How many sessions are necessary?

It depends on the goal or health issue the treatment plan is focused on, but results are usually most noticeable after 3 or 4 sessions.
